Explore Maintenance, Sustainability and Safety During NAFA’s 2025 I&E Pre-Conference Workshops

Edison, N.J. (November 1, 2024) – Attendees of NAFA’s 2025 Institute & Expo (I&E) are invited to maximize their educational experience with a selection of specialized pre-conference workshops. Scheduled for Sunday, April 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Long Beach Convention Center, these interactive sessions will delve into essential topics shaping the future of fleet management.

“Engaging in these workshops provides a unique opportunity for fleet professionals to gain in-depth knowledge and practical tools that can directly impact their operations,” said Mike Camnetar, CAFM, NAFA Board President. “From maintenance to sustainability and safety culture, these pre-conference events are designed to empower attendees to lead with confidence and innovation.”

Participants can choose from three focused pre-conference workshops:

Maintenance Management Certificate Program

This workshop is essential for fleet managers looking to enhance their understanding of vehicle maintenance and its direct impact on productivity and safety. Attendees will explore critical topics such as shop operations, environmental issues and performance monitoring. Each participant will receive a Maintenance Management Digital Guidebook and Study Guide, along with a certificate upon passing the online exam. This workshop will be led by Tim Coxwell, CAFM, CPFP, CEM, Fleet Management Division Director for the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.

Sustainable Fleet Management Certificate Program

Designed for fleet professionals aiming to develop sustainable practices, this workshop covers the essentials of creating sustainable fleet plans, eco-driving practices and effective change management. Participants will also receive a Sustainable Fleet Management Digital Manual and Study Guide, with certification awarded after the online exam. This workshop will be led by Rick Sapienza, Dean of Transportation Technologies for Wake Technical Community College. This course is worth four CAFM Recertification Points.

Driving Safety with Behavioral Science: Building a Proactive Fleet Culture

This interactive session aims to equip fleet managers with behavioral techniques to cultivate a proactive safety culture. Attendees will learn to identify safety-related behaviors and implement strategies to promote positive practices within their teams. A certificate will also be awarded upon completion of the workshop. This workshop will be led by Alison Betz, PhD, BCBA-D, VP of Clinical Product & Senior Consultant for ABA Technologies. This course is worth four CAFM Recertification Points.

I&E 2025 will take place from April 28-30, 2025 at the Long Beach Convention Center, uniting thousands of fleet professionals from sectors such as corporate, government, public safety, utilities and more. This premier event will feature over 40 educational sessions covering a diverse range of topics, along with extensive networking opportunities. Attendees can explore the industry’s largest Exhibit Hall, showcasing more than 200 exhibitors and the latest innovations designed to enhance fleet operations.
