The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas program recognizes peak-performing public and commercial fleet operations, as well as the top Fleet Technician and Fleet Professional of the year. This program identifies and encourages the ever-increasing levels of performance improvement and innovation within the fleet industry. The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas contest is open to any fleet in North, Central, or South America. Application into the contest is free, and is an entirely online process.
The purpose of this program is to help:
foster pride in the industry.
build recognition within the national fleet community.
increase levels of productivity and operational effectiveness.
encourage more individuals to consider fleet operations as a career choice.

At the beginning of your application, you will be asked to choose between applying as a PUBLIC or COMMERCIAL fleet. Please choose carefully and accurately, as this choice dictates what questions you will answer throughout the application.
A PUBLIC fleet organization includes law enforcement, public safety, municipalities, public education, or other government entities.
A COMMERCIAL fleet organization includes corporations, small businesses, some utility companies, or any other for-profit entities.

Fleet Professional and Fleet Technician of the Year Awards
As an applicant to the 100 Best Fleets program, you understand how important your team is to your agency’s operational efficiency. NAFA has added another recognition program for agencies and organizations to spotlight your team’s superstars. The Fleet Professional of the Year Award and Fleet Technician of the Year Award contests are open for all current Public and Commercial 100 Best Fleets contest applicants. Winners will be judged on answers to specific criteria and the response to a short essay prompt. Organizations can only submit one individual per competition, and there will only be one winner of each award.
Individuals eligible to receive the Fleet Professional of the Year Award include fleet managers and directors, maintenance managers and supervisors, material management and supply staff, fleet analysts, fiscal and accounting staff, safety officers, etc.
Individuals eligible to receive the Fleet Technician of the Year Award include any technician who works on your or another fleet.

In Memoriam
NAFA Fleet Management Association is saddened by the passing of Tom Johnson, fleet industry advocate and founder of the 100 Best Fleets competition, among other programs. Tom tirelessly dedicated his time and effort in pursuit of the betterment of fleet, and became an advisor to many and a friend to all in the industry. He will be greatly missed.
