NSC’s Fleet Essential Course for Passenger Vehicles

Many of the 15,500,000 people driving for work have zero formal training. On average, nearly 2,000 people die in work-related driving incidents each year. That is nearly 40% of the year’s workplace fatalities. It’s astounding but millions of people required to drive for work receive minimal or no formal training. To address this alarming training gap, NSC developed Fleet Essentials, a series of online courses you can use to educate fleet drivers and ensure they make it home safely each day.

In the U.S., motor vehicle crashes cost employers more than $3 billion annually. Training drivers not only saves lives, it lowers insurance costs. It also reduces repair, maintenance, and vehicle replacement costs. And, by helping drivers become safe vehicle operators, it may help prevent the catastrophic results of a legal verdict.

NAFA is pleased to offer the National Safety Council’s Fleet Essential Course for Passenger Vehicles at a discount, available exclusively to NAFA members.

This course includes:

  • Driving Professionally: A 20-minute online module covering the differences between driving for personal reasons and driving for work.
  • Distracted Fleet Driver: A 20-minute online course that reminds fleet drivers they can’t drive safely unless they’re attentive, alert, and engaged.
  • Vehicle Dynamics: A 40-minute online course that helps drivers understand what their vehicle can do, its limits, and how inertia, gravity and velocity can affect it.
